Assistance
If you need any assistance getting into the Church then please ask anyone entering the Church, they will inform the welcome team who can help with wheelchairs or just a helping hand if you are a bit unsteady.

Dress Code
God is concerned about the condition of the heart, not the condition of the clothes and so are we.  Feel free to dress in whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

Welcome
You will be greeted by someone from the welcoming team as you enter. They will be able to chat and explain about the service if you wish or simply show you to the auditorium where you are free to sit wherever you please. If you have children they will tell you about the children's ministries and will offer to help accompany the children to the activities during the service.

Children
• Discoverers - Nursery age to P6
• Intense - P7 to S4

The Service
The style is relaxed but reverent. Worship is led by one of our praise bands. Much of the music is contemporary, though we also use some of the best Christian worship from previous generations. We will sometimes have drama, an interview or a video clip and then a 20-30 minute message. Young people share in the worship in the service before splitting off for their own activities in Discoverers and Intense. On Sunday evenings we meet in Dumfries Baptist Church Centre at 6.30pm. Again we are led by one of our praise bands in worship, and take time to pray and study the Bible together.

After the Service
Tea and Coffee. Don't rush away after the service. Refreshments are served after each service. It gives time to relax and chat with old friends and new. There is always someone to talk to.

Meeting the Pastors
The Pastors are always delighted to meet visitors and especially during this time of restrictions due to the Coronavirus they are supporting people through phonecalls and online.  If you have any concerns or needs please do not hesitate to contact Alistair or Eoghan or leave a message on the church office phone which will be answered every week day morning.

Volunteering at DBC

There are many opportunities to volunteer and help with the work of DBC. Please contact the church office to find out more about a particular ministry and get involved.

Worship Groups

We have several worship groups who assist in leading our services. If you have a musical gift as a singer and/or instrumentalist and would be interested in serving the church through music then please speak to one of the worship leaders or contact the church office.

Sound Team

The sound team are responsible for operating the sound system in DBCC but with a particular focus on the main auditorium. We offer full training for all ages and opportunities to learn and grow in your skills.  Do you have a love of technology and an ear for what sounds good? Could you use these skills to serve the church? Contact us if you are interested in joining the team.

AV Team

The AV team are responsible for the video projection, recording and on-line broadcasting of the services each week. Are you adept at using computers, have a flair for video production or editing and keen to be involved in on-line broadcasting? Do you wish to use these gifts in the service of the Church? Training will be provided. Contact us for opportunities.

Services at the Granary

On the third Sunday afternoon of each month since the autumn of 2015 members of DBC have been leading a worship service in the lounge of the McCarthy-Stone Granary complex. We meet with around twenty residents to read God’s word, sing, pray and to hear a ‘wee sermon’ on subjects ranging from ‘Habakkuk in the Rockies’ to ‘Another day at the Office for Jesus’. Meeting with these delightful mature people to share God’s word and our faith has been an immense privilege and blessing for us from DBC, and many friendships have been forged and links with DBC established these past years. We ask for prayer that this witness may continue and know God’s blessing. Please get in touch with Alistair Mackay if you would like to help out.

Services at Parkhead Court

On the first Tuesday of the month at 6.30pm we hold a short worship service at Parkhead Court for the residents. Please pray for a time of blessing and encouragement for all involved. Please get in touch with Alistair Purss if you would like to help out.

Practical Ministries

These are the ministries which serve all the other ministries; such as communion preparation; stewarding and welcoming on Sundays. Those who provide hospitality - including refreshments at services and for special events such as coffee mornings, lunches etc. Those who care for the church centre in maintenance, set-up and cleaning. Those who look after our finances and those in the church office providing admin support.

Please contact the Church office if you would like to help.
