Dumfries Baptist Church  was formed in 1872 and today aims to build on that heritage, offering modern, vibrant and relevant ways to explore Christianity, to worship God, and to make a difference to the community we live in.

We meet each week in Dumfries High School (directions) for our morning worship service at 10.30am. The style is relaxed but reverent. Worship is led by one of our praise bands. Much of the music is contemporary, though we also use some of the best Christian worship from previous generations. We will sometimes have drama, an interview or a film clip and then a 20-30 minute message.

Young people share in the worship in the service before splitting off for their own activities in Crèche, Pulse and Deeper.

On Sunday evenings we meet in our own church building in Newall Terrace (directions) at 6.30pm. Again we are led by one of our praise bands in worship, and take time to pray and study the Bible together.

During the week, we have numerous activities:

· Small groups give the chance to study, learn, socialise and discuss our faith.

· Toddlers groups give parents and carers a chance to meet friends while their pre-schoolers play together.

· Friendship hour is an afternoon gathering designed specifically for the older generation and offers ample time to enjoy home baking.

· Girlzone is an activity-based club for primary school aged girls.

· Boyzone caters for primary boys.

· Deeper - A chance for 12-16 year olds to meet together for social and fun-filled events and a varied programme of discussion.

So if you are looking for a church, or a chance to discover what God wants to do with you, or just want to come and look, we would be delighted to see you at Dumfries Baptist Church.
